Hanover Square

Hanover Square was the first garden square to be laid out in the West End. Later, Cavendish Square was built to line up with Hanover Square on the other side of Oxford Street. Given the square’s proximity to Oxford Circus, it provides a restful space at the heart of the district.

With the opening of the Elizabeth Line in 2021, the Square is undergoing some changes to restore the garden square and gardens while creating more space for pedestrians.
